NUVEM: Speaking to media persons, Nuvem (South Goa) MLA Wilfred D’sa asserted that development work worth Rs 60 crore was sanctioned for Nuvem on his initiative, in the last 1.5 years, out of which Rs 40 crore worth assignments are already completed.

“The rest of the work will be completed by December this year. I am continuously following up with the concerned departments to get the work done,” D’sa who is popularly known as Babashan said.

“Our focus is on development, on providing basic civic amenities to the people of Nuvem. Others in the opposition will make a lot of noise and make one claim after the other. I do not want to answer or reply to them. Right now, I am the MLA and its my job to serve the people of my constituency. Let barking dogs bark,” D’sa said.

D’sa on Friday claimed he has offers from senior Congress leaders in Goa to contest the elections on a Congress ticket, and he is ready to contest if workers permit him. He also added he will not contest the elections on a BJP ticket for sure.

“Most of my supporters are urging me to contest as an independent candidate. I have not taken any decision yet. Right now I am only concentrating on development work in my constituency. There is still a lot of work to be done. I want to finish it all before Christmas,” D’sa opined.
