MAPUSA: In a veiled hint at Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Ports Minister and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo said that though the CM talks of providing 10,000 government jobs to Goans, it is not going to be possible within one month.

“It will take at least one more year for it to materialize. You cannot just give government jobs to anyone and everyone. For the last 5 years, since 2016, Goan youth have not got any government jobs,” Lobo said.

He was speaking to youth of Mapusa who had invited him to help them become self-sufficient and financially independent by setting up self-employment ventures like food stalls in the area.

Lobo has been actively canvassing in Siolim, Mapusa and neighbouring areas including Saligao, in the run-up to the Goa Assembly polls scheduled to be held in February next year.

He has made it clear, his wife Delilah Lobo would contest from Siolim either on a BJP ticket or as an independent, while he would contest from Calangute. Lobo has a good network of supporters in all the constituencies of Bardez taluka and is confident of winning in most of the constituencies.
