Suicide ruled out as post mortem report suggests Russian Ekaterina Titova was murdered

PANAJI: The Anjuna Police in North Goa have claimed that medico legal opinion and post-mortem report of Russian Ekaterina Titova, states that the woman was murdered and did not commit suicide.

They have also claimed that foul play is suspected and they are looking at various accused persons, keeping all options open.

The cops said they have started investigating the case as a murder, which was earlier considered to be a suicide.

“Post mortem of Titova suggests that it is a murder and not suicide as a result of which we are investigating the case now as murder,” the Anjuna Police said in a statement.

The police received a call saying that a lady was found dead in her rented room at Oxel Siolim, Bardez Goa.

Accordingly PSI Sujay Korgaonkar of Anjuna Police Station, visited at the spot and found that Ekaterina Tibova, age 34 yrs, Russian National holder of PP No. 72 0221284 bearing Visa No. 9001910DIQ issued on 13.01.2020 valid till 30.12.2020 was lying in her bedroom lifeless.

Accordingly the Anjuna Police registered FIR U/s 174 CrPC and conducted scene panchanama and the dead body was sent for post-mortem and preservation at GMC morgue Bambolim.

Further, the FRRO Panaji intimated the Russian Embassy about the death of the deceased to further intimate her family members and also to depute a representative to issue an NOC to conduct further medico-legal formalities as well as police investigation.
