Rain in Sattari today, more rains, thunderstorms expected in North and South Goa on Sunday

MAPUSA: Several parts of North Goa could experience thundershowers tonight (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday), the Met department said in an urgent Now cast on Saturday evening.

Parts of Sattari Taluka witnessed rain showers on Saturday evening.

Light to moderate spells of rain accompanied with thunder and lightning and winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are very likely at a isolated places over North Goa and parts of South Goa district during the next 3 to 4 hours said a Now cast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department at 8.15 pm Saturday.

“Clouds are approaching Sattari, Bicholim and Dharbandora talukas of Goa. Clouds are generally moving in a westward direction,” the forecast stated.

“Please avoid open areas, fields, finding shelter under trees or other tall structures while lightning is taking place,” it further added.

The IMD has forecast rain for Sunday, March 20 at isolated places in North and South Goa.

No major change will be seen in maximum temperature during next 3-4 days over Goa, the IMD forecast said.
