“Loyal soldier of Congress party, will work to bring Congress back to power in Goa”: Francisco Sardinha
MARGAO: One of the main aspirants for the GPCC President’s (State party president) post, and a vocal critique of current president Girish Chodankar, South Goa Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinha today said he has no complaints regarding the AICC’s decision to retain Chodankar as the president.
“I have given my opinion when the party asked for it. Now, the party high command in consultation with various people, has taken a decision, and there is no question whether we are happy or not,” he said.
A day after the announcement of several committees by the AICC, Sardinha addressed a press conference to say that he is a loyal soldier of the Congress party and he will always work in the interest of the party.
Sardinha said that as a loyal soldier of the party, his job is now to see how the Congress in Goa comes back to power.
“It’s time now for all the leaders to join hands and bring the Congress party to power in the coming Assembly elections, and I will see that the party comes to power in the South,” he said.
After holding a meeting of the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DDCMC), Sardinha said that after reviewing all 14 departments, he is happy with the work done so far.
“Out of 14, only two departments have not achieved their target, but it’s quite satisfactory,” he said.
He said that underground cabling work at Rachol village is likely to be completed in a few months and installation of CCTV cameras on beaches of South Goa will be done in the coming days.
Sardhina expressed concern over kidney problems faced by the many people in Canacona, the southern taluka of Goa.
