“Only 60 days left for Code of Conduct to come into force: 100% sure Code will come into force first week of Jan” – Michael Lobo
PANAJI: Speaking to media persons immediately after meeting BJP election observer and state incharge Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday, Ports Minister and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo asserted that there are hardly 60 days left for the Code of Conduct to come into force.
“I am certain, the Code of Conduct will come into force in Goa in the first week of January. There are only 60 days left. One cannot say, it (imposition of Code of Conduct in Goa) could even be in December,” Minister Michael Lobo confirmed assertively to media persons on Tuesday, adding that elections will be in the first half of February 2022.
He also said it was his wife’s decision to contest in Siolim and he does not want to interfere or say anything. “I am happy with my constituency Calangute. Contesting in Siolim is her individual decision. She does not need to inform anyone. It’s her individual call and decision,” Lobo said.
When queried about his wife’s plans to contest from Siolim, Lobo said, “My wife Delilah Michael Lobo has not not approached any party. She has not asked for a BJP ticket. She has a lot of supporters in Siolim who have insisted that she contest the upcoming polls. It depends on the voters. If she gets a BJP ticket, she will definitely contest as a BJP candidate or else she could contest as an Independent or depending on the opinion of her supporters and voters, she could contest on any other party ticket.”
Lobo futher said that he was no one to advise his party bosses. “I have my supporters all over Bardez, be it in Mapusa or Saligao or Siolim. Where ever my supporters call me, I am there for them,” he stated. Read More Here
