PANAJI: In an aggressive riposte to the All India Trinamool Congress’ (TMC) claims that nearly 200 Congress workers had quit the party to join the TMC, North Goa Congress District President Vijay Bhike accused TMC’s Luizinho Faleiro of spreading lies and falsehood against Goa Pradesh Congress in various ways to cement or augment his position in the Trinamool Congress Party.

Bhike stated that except for five people from the Valpoi Block which was dissolved a month earlier, there were no congressmen, who left the party to join the TMC on Tuesday.

An illusionary and fabricated picture is being created that more than 200 Congressmen from Valpoi Block joined TMC. But the reality is that there were not more than five of them, who switched sides since they were unhappy with the appointment of new a new Valpoi Block President, Bhike said.

According to Bhike, Faleiro and his new found love in the form of TMC are ferrying the same people across different Assembly constituencies to create an illusion of their party gaining grounds in the State.

The reality is that Faleiro and TMC have no takers, especially amongst Congress supporters, who stand firmly with the party.

About a 100 to 150 individuals from the I-Pac team from West Bengal were part of the crowd as can be seen in the photographs.

Faleiro and his gang of opportunists, who have taken bags of money from the TMC, making false promises of roping in senior Congress loyalists, are now a worried lot as their leader in Kolkata is a tough taskmaster who does not take kindly to those who cheat or lie. They are worried about being sacked and kicked out and in desperation have resorted to forging and fabricating facts and figures, the Congress said.

Despite offers of crores of rupees and offers of jobs by the I-PAC and TMC, loyal congressmen are not falling prey to the TMC’s religion of falsehood and deceit.

People of Goa have realised that the TMC is in Goa as the ‘B’ team of the BJP, to split secular votes and increase its national vote share to qualify as a national party. It has no genuine interest in Goa or Goans or providing good governance to the state, said Bhike.
