Sapna Gill and her friends first attacked cricketer Prithvi Shaw: Priya Soni slams influencer for ‘selfie’ attack case

MUMBAI: Model Priya Soni has claimed that it was Sapna Gill and her friends who first abused cricketer Prithvi Shaw and his group, calling him a flop and useless man.

“They (Sapna Gill) first attacked Shaw and were armed with a baseball bat. They had planned to attack his group and even got more people to help them. They got hired goons on motorbikes who kept chasing Shaw’s car. The police are doing a good job,” Priya Soni said.

Sapna Gill and seven others Thursday were arrested by the Oshiwara Police station, after a case of rioting, criminal intimidation and extortion was registered against them for allegedly attacking Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw’s car with a baseball bat following a tiff over taking selfies outside a restaurant near Vile Parle East off the Western Express highway.

Sapna Gill will be produced in a magistrate’s court on Friday for remand.

The Oshiwara police in suburban Mumbai have registered a case against the eight accused including Sapna Gill under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting), 384 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation) and others.
