Kolkata Model Shamita Smita Ghosh Alleges Ullu Producer Forcibly Disrobed Her
Kolkata: An upcoming model and actress Shamita Smita Ghosh has alleged that a producer associated with the ULLU app (software application) owned by Vibhu Agarwal forcibly disrobed her, when she refused to remove her inner garments beyond a certain point.
Speaking to this reporter, Shamita Smita Ghosh said, “I shot a few web series during the lock down in 2020 and first half of 2021. It was during this time in December 2020 that one Akash who claimed he was a producer for the Mumbai-based Ullu Digital Pvt Ltd., owned by Vibhu Agarwal approached me through a casting agent and said he was ready to pay me Rs 10,000/- per episode for a web series shoot. I agreed to shoot with him as he clearly stated that there would be no nudity and the exposure was up to bikini level.”
Shamita Smita Ghosh has alleged that on the day of the shoot in December last year, Akash came into the changing room and told her there was a change in the story and the script by the company Ullu Digital Pvt Ltd and stated that she would have to remove her bikini top or bra.
“He further said that they would only shoot from the back, so that I have to give them a backless shot. I told him that there was no need to remove the entire bra or bikini top. I would only untie the top and pose for the scene holding the bikini top in front to cover my breasts.”
“When the shooting began, I undid the bikini top as told earlier. However, Akash said I have to wave my hands so I cannot keep holding the bikini top and will have to let it drop down to the floor. I refused to do so as I didn’t want to be topless or expose my breasts before the unit members. At this point Akash came toward me and forcibly snatched away the bikini top, which I was holding against my body to cover my breasts. For a few seconds, my breasts were exposed to the unit members and camera man who was standing there. I was very angry and upset and stomped out of the room and went into the dressing room. I wore my clothes and refused to continue the shoot, after this incident,” Shamita Smita Ghosh told this reporter.
When asked why she did not file a police complaint against the producer for this act of molestation, Shamita Smita Ghosh said she wanted to continue to work in the industry. “There is no work now due to Covid. We have to pay our rent and our bills. Filing a complaint would mean no work at all. But I told my family and maybe I will file a complaint in future,” she explained.
