Actor Arpita Mali offers prayers on Chhatt: film inspired by Ram Rahim and Radhe Maa slated for Dec release

MUMBAI: Model and actor Arpita Mali, whose film inspired by controversial personalities Ram Rahim and Radhe Maa is slated for a December release, offered special prayers on Sunday on the occasion of Chhatt for the success of the project. She also joined in the Chhath puja later on.

Chhath is an ancient Hindu festival historically native to and celebrated in the Indian subcontinent, more specifically, the North Indian states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and the Nepalese provinces of Madhesh and Lumbini.

Prayers during Chhath puja are dedicated to the solar deity, Surya or the Sun God, to show gratitude and thankfulness for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request that certain wishes and prayers be granted.

Arpita Mali who started her career 10 years ago with Bhojpuri films and Bollywood music videos, also featured in ‘Inspector Chandni’ starring Rani Chatterjee, Aazaad Kumar and herself in a love triangle. Arpita played the character of a girl whose love later transforms into serious obsessiveness and mental anxiety. She has done various print and Tv advertisements over the years.

Her film “Ohh Maa” which is inspired by the life of god man Gurmeet Ram Rahim and god woman Radhe Maa, in which she plays the main lead, is ready for release, she said.
