Posro opened its doors on 22nd of December 2020 at Margao for the people of Goa.
According to Irene Almeida,”Posro is a social initiative taken by the Goa Sudharop, empowering our very own Goans to showcase their skills, talents and expertise as Posro by Goa Sudharop gives them a sponsored platform to earn a living, to sustain and earn a living for themselves. At the same time we intend to revive our Goan traditions to take forward our legacy for generations to come. At Posro we respect the hands which toil to bring the food on our table, hence we felicitated a padekar, xetkamti and a randpin who blessed Posro and made it open for everyone to experience.”
Some of the products available at the store include homemade oil, vinegar, jaggery, home ground masala such as Xacuti, Ambottik, Recheado and Jeeremire. Goan grown spices, cereals, rice, millets, cowpeas along with organically grown fruits and vegetables were for sale at the Posro.
