Sidharth Shukla Death: Did Overdose Of Potency Enhancing Drug Trigger Cardiac Arrest In 40-year-old Actor?

MUMBAI: Speaking in hushed tones, several medical and cardiac experts IndyaTv.in spoke to concerning the sudden and mysterious death of actor and Reality Tv star Sidharth Shukla, opined that in such cases an overdose of potency enhancing drugs are the main cause of a massive cardiac arrest or brain stroke leading to immediate death.

Quoting the cases of a Mumbai advocate (names withheld to maintain privacy of the individuals) and a former MLA and former Power Minister in Goa, doctors said that overdoses of potency enhancing drugs are known to cause either brain stroke (as in the case of the Goa MLA) or massive cardiac arrests.

A Malad, Mumbai-based cardiac expert on condition of anonymity said: “I am not saying Sidharth Shukla’s death was caused due to an overdose of a potency enhancing drug.

The post mortem can determine what medicine he took the previous night. What I am telling you in general is that one of the main causes of sudden and unexpected massive heart attacks, in case of otherwise healthy male individuals in the age group of 40 to 55 years, is the rampant and unchecked misuse or overdose of potency enhancing drugs like Viagra, sometimes taken with other drugs or with alcohol.”

Adding to his above statement, the Malad cardiac expert wondered aloud: According to his family, Sidharth Shukla was not going through any stress. There were no financial problems. He had everything in life. He was making money during the lock down, when many actors are sitting at home and twiddling their thumbs. He was handsome and well-built. He had a beautiful girlfriend who was madly in love with him. Sidharth was the image of a perfect man. Then why did he suffer such a massive heart attack at 40, the doctor asked? ALSO READ: Was A Property Dispute Responsible For Sidharth Shukla’s Death?

One media report said Sidharth Shukla was addicted to cigarettes and was a chain smoker. Another report said he wanted to go to London for lung-cancer treatment. However, we have not been able to individually verify these reports.

How did Sidharth Shukla die? Possible cause of death of Sidharth Shukla

Multiple factors like smoking, leading a sedentary lifestyle, alcohol consumption, drug abuse, over eating processed food, being obese, stress, genetic predisposition can put one at risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. However, it is a known fact that Sidharth was otherwise healthy. As of filing this report, it cannot be confirmed if he had any illness or was diabetic or was a chain smoker, though some media reports have claimed the same.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police have said that a chemical and viscera analysis will be done after the post-mortem and autopsy of the late actor.

The Mumbai Police have recorded statements of family members. Family members claim that all was fine till mid-night and it was at around 3 am that he began feeling uneasy and restless and complained of chest pain.

Family members said, “He asked for cold water, and went off to sleep, again in the morning, he complained of chest pain and asked for water. While drinking water, he suddenly fell unconscious. Republic Tv puts together a time-line leading to Sidharth Shukla’s death

With inputs from Mumbai Police sources, Republic has pieced together a timeline of events leading to Sidharth Shukla’s death. His sister and brother-in-law, who brought him to hospital, have recorded their statements with the cops. • Around 3 am: Sidharth Shukla got up from bed feeling uneasy. He informed his mother about experiencing pain in the chest. She advised Sidharth to have cold water and get some rest.
• Thursday morning: Sidharth Shukla’s mother tried to wake him up but he lay unconscious. His mother and sister then called the doctor. The doctor declared him dead and asked his family to take his body immediately to the hospital.
• 9.40 am: Sidharth Shukla was brought to Cooper hospital in an ambulance, accompanied by his sister and brother-in-law. Shukla’s cousin brother and three friends also left for the hospital.
• 10.30: Doctors at the Cooper hospital declared Sidharth Shukla dead. Sidharth Shukla’s body was examined externally at the casualty ward. No external injury or foul play was found during the examination.
• 3.45 pm: Sidharth Shukla’s body was taken for post mortem. The 3-4 hour-long procedure has been conducted by a team comprising five medical professionals. The post-mortem also included a chemical examination.
• The Post mortem will be videographed and two cops from Mumbai police will be present as witnesses to the procedure. The post mortem is likely to complete before 7 pm.
• Around 7 pm: Earlier, it was informed that Sidharth Shukla’s body will be brought to his Oshiwara residence to perform last rites after the post-mortem. However, the Mumbai Police has since confirmed to Republic that his mortal remains will remain at Cooper Hospital overnight.

If any of the family members or others raise any doubts or provide additional details to the police, the same will be considered during the investigation. As of now, Sidharth Shukla’s family has not raised any doubts or alleged any foul play in his death, Republic Tv reported.
