According to family sources, the anticipatory bail application was to be filed on Wednesday itself, but due to some technical issues, it will be filed in the court on Thursday 18th August. “Our lawyers are filing the bail application today,” a family member told this reporter Wednesday late evening. Oshiwara police officials said they have not received any intimation from Jain’s lawyers.

“As far as we are concerned, there is no intimation and the accused is absconding and wanted. We are looking for him,” a senior police official said, adding that it is mandatory for the accused to serve a copy of the bail application to the concerned police station before filing in the court.

The police have recorded a supplementary statement of the victim complainant and medical examination could be conducted today or tomorrow. “We are following the law. Jain is not at his residence and his mobile is switched off. Our detection team is looking for him, but he is apparently out of Mumbai. We have launched technical and digital tracking and surveillance to locate his whereabouts,” the official said.
