Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s last rites, funeral details and more
BENGALURU: Following Kannada film star Puneeth Rajkumar’s death, the Bengaluru Police has banned the sale of alcohol in the city from today (Friday) till midnight October 31, 2021 to prevent any law and order situation.
Theater owners also decided to cancel evening shows on Friday. Shows are likely to be cancelled on Saturday.
Preparations are going on at the Kanteerava Stadium so fans can pay their last respects’ to the Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant told India Today.
“Preparations underway so fans can pay their last respects. 6,000 police personnel are out on the streets. 40 KSRP platoons plus city armed reserve and RAF are also there,” he said to maintain law and order.
Puneeth Rajkumar’s mortal remains have been taken to his residence in Sadashivnagar, Bengaluru.
Puneeth’s remains will be placed for the public and fans to pay their last respects tomorrow at the Kanteerava Stadium, sources said. Arrangements are already underway at the stadium on a war-footing for Saturday’s funeral ceremony.
