Ticket for drugs rave party on Cordelia The Empress cruise ship was Rs 80k to Rs 100k: Sagarika Shona Suman
MUMBAI: Model and actress Sagarika Shona Suman who was scheduled to travel with a friend on the cruise ship “Cordelia The Empress”, which left Mumbai on Saturday for Goa, and which was raided by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), resulting in the finding of drugs and banned substances on board, said the theme party organizers were charging Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,00,000 for the 3-day round trip.
Her friend was supposed to purchase the tickets on Wednesday and the duo were supposed to travel on Saturday. The couple had planned everything, but her parents objected to the cruise trip as the Pitru Paksha period is going on, which is considered inauspicious and religious Hindus avoid any new activity or business or even travel during this period.
Sagarika who is very superstitious in way, immediately told her male friend to drop the idea of the cruise trip for this time.
“Actually, I was very excited to be on this cruise trip. The scenery is very beautiful during the monsoon on the Mumbai-Goa sea route as the cruise ship halts for short duration at different points to view the shoreline. In addition, depending on the package one can spend 1-2 days in Goa, and return on the 3rd (or 4th) day. While the cruise company charges Rs 35,000 for a balcony cabin and Rs 75,000 for a suite room, the Delhi-based event company was charging Rs 80,000 and Rs 1,00,000 for the same rooms as they promised additional entertainment. There was also a package for Rs 1.50 lakh. Little did my friend and I know that the additional entertainment meant a drug-laced rave party,” Sagarika explained, thanking herself for canceling the trip, though her friend was very keen on doing the Mumbai-Goa cruise and very disappointed when she canceled it
According to an India Today report, the event was organised by Fashion TV India along with a Delhi-based event company Namascray Experience, who had organized the on-board entertainment as well as sold tickets for the in-cruise party and entertainment. In fact, just last morning, Sagarika had a big fight with her friend for canceling the planned outing, but fortunately she stuck to her guns and refused to go, even though her friend threatened her that he would go with someone else.
The Mumbai to Goa rave party aboard the cruise ship Cordelia The Empress, was organised by an event management company Namas’cray based in Delhi.
The Fashion TV India event was named Cray’Ark and was sponsored by whiskey brand Johnnie Walker. It was widely advertised on social media, including Instagram and Facebook.
