MUMBAI: Activist and social worker Shreha Dhargalkar has demanded a fast track trial for the Delhi murder case accused Aftab Amin Poonawala for brutally murdering and dismembering the body of his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar who hailed from Maharashtra.

“He should be hanged at the gallows within six months,” Dhargalkar demanded in a self-shot video.

Both the accused and the victim were working together at a Call Centre at Malad in suburban Mumbai and had met on the dating app Bumble.

Terming the incident “the worst form of Love Jihaad” Shreha said Poonawala does not deserve any mercy as he kept the corpse of his dead girlfriend in a fridge for nearly two months, cutting it off piece by piece and throwing it away in the jungles around Delhi, so that animals could consume the pieces.

“There should be a fast-track court and fast-track justice. The trial must be completed within six months. Ponnawalla must be sent to the gallows. The way he cut up his girlfriend’s body and stored it in the fridge for 3 months has shocked the nation. He even had sex with other women, in the same room, where he had murdered his girlfriend, while his murdered girlfriend’s body was in the fridge next to him. This man is not human, he is not even an animal, he is Satan and must be sent to hell as soon as possible,” Shreha said.
