MUMBAI: Several opposition leaders demanded that the woman in the alleged sex video with the image bearing a resemblance to former MP Kirit Somaiya should come forward and file a complaint against the leader.

The Opposition Congress and the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena have lashed out at Somaiya and the ruling coalition, saying the video exposes their “character and true face”. They have also claimed there are several other such clips in existence and many women are involved.

Somaiya while questioning the authenticity of the video termed it fake and sought an in-depth inquiry.

The bold video, allegedly showing Somaiya in a “compromising position” and indulging in alleged sex chat, was posted by the Marathi channel Lokshahi. We cannot independently verify its authenticity or genuineness

Hitting out at Somaiya and the Eknath Shinde-led government, the Congress has said the video exposes their real character as well as their hypocrisy.

“The ruling coalition’s character and true face has been exposed today. Kirit Somaiya has blackmailed many MLAs and MPs as well as businessmen. Now, we can see that he has even blackmailed a number of women. I have heard that an eight-hour clip has come out. I can’t even imagine how many women must have been harassed and tortured due to the clip,” said Congress MLA Yashomati Thakur, speaking to the media in Mumbai.
