Reality Star Arshi Khan, Goan Restaurant Souza Lobo among top awardees at India International Excellence Awards
New Delhi: Reality Tv star Arshi Khan of the Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss fame, traditional Goan food restaurant Souza Lobo at Calangute, eminent Mumbai cardiologist Dr Pranav Kabra, Instagram influencer Kate Sharma and nearly 50 other businessmen, entrepreneurs and film and Tv personalities are among the top awardees at the India International Excellence Awards.
Social activist Cecille Rodrigues of Goa, whose #Rosto campaign to paint speed breakers and pedestrian crossings in the tourist state has prevented many accidents, educationist Megha Chaudhary from Meerut, who faced several hurdles in her path to eventually become a post-graduate lecturer and others are among the other awardees.
Jude Lobo of Souza Lobo, Calangute, Goa, whose untiring efforts to promote authentic, traditional Goan food, Goan masalas and spices, as well as get traditional food items standardized, said he was thrilled to be on the awardees list.
“Goan food is a passion for me and we have been on the job for the last 90 years, with three generations involved in Souza Lobo, which was founded in 1932 by my grandfather,” Lobo said.
In addition to the above celebrities, educationists, film personalities and social activists, the India International Excellence Awards 2022 (IIE Awards) has felicitated more than 600 undergraduate and postgraduate students from 12 different States of India.
The awardees were presented with a scholarship as well as a certificate and memento each, to recognize their excellence in studies, in the face of the Covid pandemic, which ruffled the education system in the country.
The main criteria for qualifying students included recognition of academic success, financial need, community and social involvement as well as outstanding efforts to complete their academic years/schedules in spite of disease or illness.
In addition to students, the awards were given to other categories including food, fashion design and entrepreneurship.
The India International Excellence Awards, held twice a year, recognizes and felicitates students, companies, businessmen, entrepreneurs and others for academic excellence, creativity, innovation, quality and outstanding performance in their respective sectors.
Nominations for the second edition of the 2022 awards are now open, Fernandes said, adding that students and others can apply directly or self-nominate themselves for the same.
