Rain, thunderstorms expected in various parts of Goa till tomorrow
PANAJI: The weatherman has warned of lightning in isolated places in Goa accompanied by gusty and strong winds till Monday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted isolated light rain and thunder showers at various places in both the districts of Goa for about four days till Sunday or Monday morning.
Rain is expected to occur at isolated places in both the districts of Goa till April 9 or 10 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over North Interior Karnataka and neighbourhood region and a trough of easterly winds over the west coast, a private weather forecaster also said.
According to the IMD, the western coast of India is likely to experience slightly wet weather conditions, including Mumbai and Goa, over the next few days. The IMD has also warned of lightning in isolated places and strong winds in the coastal regions of Goa, Sindhudurg and Konkan.
Goans are instructed to be extra careful while driving on wet, slippery roads and particularly while riding on 2-wheelers at night. Thunderstorm activity in Goa and the coastal region is expected till Sunday but could extend to Monday or Monday morning early hours, the private forecasting agency said.
