MUMBAI: The Congress MLA from the western suburbs of Mumbai in Malad, Aslam Shaikh clarified his meeting with the Dy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying he met the Dy CM regarding development projects initiated during his tenure as in-charge of the Fisheries Ministry.
According to Times of India who quoted Shaikh as saying: “I met Fadnavis regarding official work, I’m not joining the BJP. I called on the Dy CM to request him to vacate the stay granted by the new government on projects cleared by the fisheries department when I was Minister for fisheries,” Shaikh told TOI.
Shaikh said when he was the fisheries development minister in the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA government, many projects were cleared by the state cabinet, however, the new government has issued a blanket stay on all developmental projects across the state.
Most of these projects are in coastal districts, Thane, Ratnagiri and Palghar.
“I urged the DCM to reconsider the decision and vacate the stay as early as possible,” Shaikh claimed.
