Kolkata: The police have arrested three more individuals after busting a porn racket in the city. The police took action after complaints were made by two women at two different locations, reports India Today.
New Town Kolkata Porn Racket
In the New Town porn films racket, the police arrested one more person named Souvik Mukherjee from Beliaghata area on Tuesday night. Mukherjee allegedly worked as a coordinator with the group that shot porn film.
A total of five people have now been arrested in the case. The others arrested in the case are Moinak Ghosh, Nandita Dutta, Subhankar Dutta and Snehasish Bal.
The police started their investigation into the case following the complaint of a female model at the New Town police station on July 25.
In her account, the victim said she came across a man on Facebook in January this year. He asked her to reach an apartment in Ballygunge for a saree shoot.
On reaching there, she was allegedly told to do a porn shoot. When she refused, she was threatened by accused persons Mainak Ghosh and Nandita Dutta. Hence, she did it and the video was uploaded on foreign porn sites.
After the video went viral, the woman filed a police complaint. She said these porn shoots were taking place at a well-known five-star hotel in New Town in Kolkata.
Salt Lake Porn Racket
Two people, Pratap Ghosh and Jayshree Mitra, were arrested by the Bidhannagar Police’s cyber crime cell after another female model lodged a police complaint alleging that she had been blackmailed. The complaint was lodged on July 19.
The victim alleged that compromising pictures of her were shot during photo shoots earlier. Using those, she was blackmailed and told the content would be published on social media if she did not comply.
She recounted that she came to know main accused Pratap Ghosh through Facebook on July 16. She was asked to send samples of her work and told to do a bold scene, which she agreed to do.
According to her account, she was called to Central Park in Salt Lake for the shoot. She was told that the content would only be uploaded on their own app.
She said she was later also asked to do a shoot at a guest house in Garfa area.
She was given an agreement that mentioned she had done the shoot without any pressure from the filmmakers and that they would not be held liable in future.
After more than a week, her friends reportedly informed her that the video had been uploaded on a website and gone viral.
When she asked the filmmakers to remove the clip from porn sites, they asked her for Rs 3 lakh.
The accused have denied the allegations against them.
