Crime Branch grills Saurabh Kushwaha director of Armsprime Media that developed HotShots And Several Other Apps
Mumbai: According to a PTI report, the director of a firm which developed an app through which businessman Raj Kundra allegedly published and distributed porn content, appeared before the police here on Wednesday to record his statement, an official said.
Saurabh Kushwaha, director of Armsprime Media Private Ltd, a firm founded by Kundra, appeared before the property cell of the Mumbai crime branch at noon. He was still being questioned at the time of filing this report, a police official told PTI in the evening.
Kundra, accused of producing and distributing pornographic films through an app called HotShots, developed by Armsprime, was arrested last month along with his IT head Ryan Thorpe.
According to the police, Kundra founded Armsprime Media in February 2019. He allegedly told police that he later sold the app to Kenrin Ltd, a London-based firm owned by his relative Pardeep Bakshi.
In addition to the HotShots App, Armsprime Media had developed several apps for Bollywood personalities and models like Sherlyn Chopra, Poonam Pandey, Gehana Vasisth and about 20 others.
Raj Kundra had invested Rs 10 crore into Armsprime Media and was the chairman of the company.
He claimed that he exited the company in December 2019 and the HotShots app was later on sold to Kenrin Limited.
But the police found that Kenrin Limited was actually owned by Kundra himself and his brother-in-law Pardeep Bakshi was only the owner on paper to circumvent stringent Indian laws concerned obscenity and pornography.
