CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Justice & Human Rights Forum (PJHRF) has accused CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s henchmen of distributing cash to villages and interior parts of Punjab, mostly the locales inhabited by Dalits.

Adv Dharmjeet Singh of the PJHRF, speaking to media persons in Chandigarh on the sidelines of another press conference, said Channi’s family and associates earned huge amounts of black money in sand mining.

Families are paid Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000 by Channi’s henchmen in different parts of Punjab. The Election Commission of India must look into this matter, Singh demanded.

“That money is now being used to bribe and buy votes in the interior regions of Punjab as well as among Dalits localities,” Singh said.

Singh has also accused CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew Bhupinder Singh alias Honey of earning several crore by manipulating transfers and postings and alleged that Channi was aware of the same and did nothing as Punjab CM.
