MUMBAI: Darshana Saxena, a local BJP Mahila leader and prominent social worker in suburban Mumbai, has demanded a judicial or NIA enquiry into the JNU incident, wherein several buildings on the JNU campus were defaced with anti-Brahmin and anti Bania slogans.

“This is the work of terror, anti-national and anti-social elements. There is a deep-rooted conspiracy to create communal unrest in the country and damage the good work that PM Narendra Modi and the BJP government at the Centre is doing. This is not simple or normal mischief by university students. There is a conspiracy involved and funding provided for the same. The Centre must call in the NIA to investigate this work of anti-national, terror networks,” Saxena demanded, speaking to reporters in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, JNU Vice-Chancellor Santishree D Pandit asked students and staff members to be vigilant so that such incidents do not happen in future.

The walls in Jawaharlal Nehru University’s School of International Studies (SIS)- II building were defaced with graffiti asking members of Brahmin and Baniya communities to leave the campus and the country.

Teacher and student bodies have urged the JNU administration to conduct a free and fair inquiry into the incident to ensure peace on the campus.
