Was Siddhi Naik romantically involved with a Calangute politician’s driver’s son?

PANAJI: If one could consider it a lead or a new angle, some fresh evidence suggests that the late Siddhi Naik was romantically involved with the son of a driver working for a powerful politician from the Calangute-Baga belt.

Given the fact that her semi-nude body was found on the Calangute beach, this information assumes significance for the cops who are now investigating the case as a murder. ALSO READ: Senior Calangute Politician Involved In Siddhi Naik’s Death?

The Calangute police are tight-lipped on the matter and are not ready to share any information, but a new source has come forward sharing information that the deceased girl was having an affair (or had an affair earlier) with the son of a driver working for a powerful politician from the Calangute area.

Apparently, she had broken off with the driver’s son and was ‘friendly’ with another boy from Mapusa, when she met her end, sources said, adding that both the ‘boys’ must be interrogated at length to ascertain if any foul play was involved.

We were not able to dig out more information at this stage, as witnesses are not ready to openly or publicly name the politician or the driver involved, but it seems the boy (son of politician’s driver) was very much in love with the deceased and the duo had fights about her “friendship” with other boys.

Sources have claimed that that Siddhi and her sister were simultaneously linked with more than one lad, which resulted in arguments and fights even at their home, with her parents scolding her for her ‘lifestyle’.

The Calangute police who after 5 months of dillydallying, finally registered a murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code in the matter of the death of the 19-year-old whose body was found in a semi-nude state on the Calangute beach on 12th August, 2021 have started a fresh investigation.

In September last year, the deceased girl’s father, Sandeep Naik, had lodged a complaint against unknown accused, alleging that she was murdered by forcible drowning near the Calangute beach.

Since the deceased girl’s parents did not share crucial information with the police about the lifestyle of their late daughter, the police were possibly in the dark, but it has now become clear that Siddhi Naik had at least two ‘affairs’ or ‘relationships’ in the year prior to her death.

Neighbours of the 19-year-old deceased teenager had stated that the family was against her relationship with a boy and had scolded and reprimanded the girl several times (in the weeks prior to her death) for spending long hours on the phone with her boyfriend, including chatting with him and other friends at night.

Forensic experts who examined the case, rule out the possibility that the clothes of the victim girl, including her bra could have come undone while in the sea.

When asked for an opinion a forensic expert associated with the Mumbai Police for several years said, “this is unheard of and simply not possible, unless the bra was removed or detached before the deceased could hit the water.”
