Suchana Seth murder case: Son wanted to meet Dad, said so on video call, asked for gifts, angering mother
PANAJI: In a new angle that seems to have emerged in the murder case of a four-year-old child at a service apartment at Candolim in North Goa, allegedly by his own mother, the kid is said to have spoken to his father via a video call just before he was killed, and expressed his desire to meet him.
“The kid is said to have asked about the whereabouts of his father and even demanded some gifts or toys when he came to meet him. This angered his mother who allegedly made up her mind to kill him immediately. The woman is said to have planned other details well in advance, but was initially hesitant to murder her own child. However, the child’s demand for toys and his willingness to meet his father was the final nail in the coffin, which promoted the woman to smother the kid with a pillow in a fit of rage,” sources claimed.
The kids words, “when will you meet me, I want……. bring …….. (gifts and toys)” is what angered his mother, who is alleged to have killed the kid on the spot by suffocating him with a pillow.
Maybe she did not intend to kill the kid, but in a fit of rage, forcibly covered his face with a pillow, pressing down with force, thus suffocating the already weak and ill kid, thus killing him. The child had breathing difficulty and could not intake enough air in each breath. The pillow covering his nose and mouth – even for a short while was enough to cause him to suffocate to death – an informed source told this website.
Meanwhile, as part of the nearly finalised divorce between the couple, the father was given visiting rights and was permitted to meet his son every Sunday.
Initially, he was restricted from meeting his son under the terms of a restraining order issued on August 18, 2022, the husband was prohibited from entering Suchana Seth’s house or contacting her son via phone or any other medium.
The father, though, was reportedly allowed weekly visitation rights to his son, which upset Suchana Seth, as per an India Today report. Also, Suchana Seth filed a domestic violence case against her husband Venkat, accusing him of physically abusing her. He denied these allegations before the court, alleging that she was making “wild allegations to deny custody of the child”.
During the brief confrontation between the two on Saturday at the Calangute police station, the duo were blaming each other for everything that had gone wrong. When Venkat asked about the alleged murder of their child, Suchana Seth said that she didn’t know anything about their son’s death and insisted that the child was already dead when she woke up from a short nap.
Suchana Seth, during the confrontation, gave a similar answer that she had been giving to the police. As per her statements, she fell asleep when the child, at the service apartment in Goa, was alive and when she woke up, the child was found dead. The child was not keeping well, had breathing difficulty and suffered from some form of Asthma or Bronchitis and was being given cough syrup to control his coughing.
Venkat further told the authorities that Suchana Seth had asked him to meet the child on January 7, and he went to the decided location and waited, but the child and Suchana didn’t turn up. Following that, he tried to get in touch with her, but there was no response.
“He (Venkat) also asked about their well-being in the messages and emails, but she didn’t respond,” Venkat’s lawyer told India Today in Goa.
