Sonali Phogat murder case: CBI team finds minute traces of drugs at Gurugram flat
NEW DELHI: A CBI team which inspected and searched a flat at the Gurgaon Greens Society in Sector-10 on Friday at Gurugram found minute traces of drug usage on the premises, confidential sources revealed.
Certain materials were found, which could possibly indicate drug usage like rolled cigarette papers, a chillum cigarette and other items.
There were other indications of possible drug usage, but the source refused to divulge any more details stating that the investigation is going on and such confidential details if exposed at this stage, could jeopardize the probe.
The flat was rented by Phogat’s secretary and Sudhir Sangwan and both of them had represented themselves as husband and wife to the building society members and society committee.
The CBI team stayed for almost two hours in the society but refused to speak to the media or share any details.
According to the local police, the CBI team reached the society at 2.30 pm and searched Sangwan’s flat in Tower 4 of the complex for about one and a half hours.
During their search, the owner of the rented flat was also queried by the CBI. Phogat’s brother was present with the CBI team.
The Goa Police registered a murder case against two people, her PA Sudhir Sangwan. and his associate Sukhwinder Singh.
The Goa Police team also visted Hisar, Rohtak, and Gurugram in September as part of their investigation.
As the deceased’s family said they were not satisfied with the investigation by the Goa Police, the investigation was handed over to the CBI by the Goa government on instructions of the Union Home Ministry.
