Sonali Phogat death: More than 46 injury marks on actor’s body caused by blunt trauma or blunt force injury
PANAJI: Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) sources have revealed that more than 46 or nearly 50 blunt force injury marks were noted on the late actor’s body during the post mortem. Initially, the post mortem said that several blunt force injury marks were found on her body, but the doctors did not specify exactly how many marks were present. After a person dies and the process of decay of the body begins – 24 to 30 hours after death, the injury marks extend across the skin and flesh of the body and when active decay or putrefaction and advanced decay set it all the blunt injury marks, which by now would have turned dark green or black spread across the surface of the body.
Immediately after a person dies, such injury marks may look purple or dark purple. They change color as the body begins the process of decay and spread across the entire body as the body bloats due to the formation of gasses inside. In one of the last stages or skeletonisation the skin and flesh disappear and this happens weeks after death. All these process can depend on various factors including temperature of the surroundings, etc.
The doctors who performed the post mortem on Sonali Phogat have reserved their opinion as to the exact cause of death of the late actor and advised the authorities to conduct a viscera analysis, chemical analysis, metabolic tests, narcotic analysis tests and more.
This is a complex medical testing procedure and such analysis can take days to yield results. However such tests can accurately detect if any drugs, poisons or other chemicals were present in the body as well as the state of the heart, brain and other vital organs like liver, kidneys, etc.
