Singer-Composer Rahul Jain Swindled Female Lyricist Of Over Rs 25 Lakh, Raped Her And Forced Her To Abort

MUMBAI: Wanted by the Mumbai police for rape and cheating, Bollywood singer and composer Rahul Rajendra Jain is absconding from his Lokhandwala flat in suburban Mumbai since the last few days along with his family.

Jain and two of his family members including his brother and mother are wanted by the Oshiwara police station in a rape and cheating complaint filed by a well-known woman song writer and lyricist-turned director and producer. Reliable sources said the Mumbai police have started proceedings to issue a lookout notice in a few days, so that the accused persons cannot leave the country.

Besides, alleging rape and cheating, Jain is charged with various other sections of the IPC. The victim has also accused Jain of not returning Rs 25-lakh which he owes her. She has alleged Jain sold her songs and lyrics under his own name and did not pay her a penny.

Police officials were not ready to comment “as the investigation in the case is at a very crucial stage and the main accused is absconding”. Jain and his family members have approached the Dindoshi Sessions court at Goregaon East for Anticipatory Bail and the matter is posted for 20th October for hearing.

As soon as the FIR was registered, Jain somehow managed to get alerted and he and his family, including his mother and brother (See Here), went underground. It seems Rahul got wind of the case being registered, even before the paperwork was complete, and made plans to go underground. He is said to be hiding in the Thane-Vashi area on the outskirts of Mumbai, while his family may have shifted to his hometown in Indore.

The Oshiwara police who visited Jain’s residence at Lokhandwala, found the door locked and the building security told them that the entire family had left the building premises with a lot of luggage.

Rahul Jain’s phones are switched off and he is untraceable.

The cops have started looking for Jain and a manhunt has been launched for the absconding singer and his family members whose names are mentioned as accused in the FIR.

According to the police, playback singer and composer Rahul Rajendra Jain and two or three of his family members have been booked for rape, cheating, breach of trust, causing miscarriage or forcing a woman to undergo an abortion against her will, and other sections of the IPC.

Police have registered an FIR under sections 376 (2) N (rape with the involvement of other persons), 313 (forced miscarriage/abortion without consent of the mother/victim), 420 (cheating), 406 (breach of trust)  and 34 (common intention) at the  Oshiwara Police Station in suburban Mumbai.
