MUMBAI: Speaking about the mysterious and sudden death of actor Sidharth Shukla, a senior official of the Mumbai police said the cops have not given a clean chit to anyone nor have they closed the case.

“We are waiting for the reports from the FSL (Forensic State Lab) and the other experts. The doctors at the Cooper hospital have sent the viscera and organs to various medical colleges for analysis. We will not comment or say anything unless the final reports of the viscera analysis and histopathology reports are out and we have the expert opinion of the doctors on the same. Right now we have not given a clean chit to anyone, nor have we certified the death as a ‘heart attack’ or anything else. We have to wait for the reports. We have to wait for the expert opinion and analysis of the reports. The investigation is open and no inferences have been drawn yet. No decisions have been taken. Once the reports are out and the experts have their say in the matter, we will decide what to do next. Either to close the case or begin a fresh investigation,” the senior officer told this reporter.

Sidharth’s family has insisted that his death was normal and that the actor passed away due to a massive heart attack in his sleep. He was taken to the hospital in the morning and was declared dead on arrival.

The postmortem report did not find any injury marks or bruises on his body. But that does not rule out poisoning or death due to some medications or drugs. That factor will become clear when the viscera analysis and histopathology reports are out.
