Shraddha Walkar told me she wanted to get married in Goa: Shreha Dhargalkar

MUMBAI: Activist Shreha Dhargalkar who had interacted with the murder victim Shraddha Walkar during a beach cleanup drive in Mumbai said Walkar was in a hurry to get married and have kids of her own.

“She had joined a beach cleanup program jointly organised by a Marathi actor Madhuri Sangita Patil, some NGOs and myself in Mumbai suburbs. We were cleaning up the beaches at Juhu, Versova, Madh and Aksa on Sunday mornings by collecting the garbage, empty bottles and other materials strewn on the beach and Walkar joined us after a social media appeal,” Shreha explained.

“She wanted to get married in Goa and wanted to start a family of her own. She wanted to have kids,” is what she told Shreha when the latter asked her about her future plans.

When I told her that I hail from Goa, she said Goa is where she would want to finally settle down after marriage.

“She was hardworking, but she was an introvert and did not mix with the others or talk to them much. She was an silent most of the time as if lost in thought. She only spoke when she was spoken to or asked any questions. She was reserved and mostly kept to herself. She did not share anything about her family or personal life,” Shreha told this website.

Walker was murdered by her live-in boyfriend Aftab Amin Poonawala in May this year, after a quarrel and her body was later on cut up into 35 pieces and dumped by the murderer in the forests around Delhi.
