Shraddha Walkar pregnant? Madhuri Sangita Patil confirms she was present when she revealed this to another woman

MUMBAI: Marathi theatre artiste and upcoming actor Madhuri Sangita Patil, on Saturday confirmed that she was present at the Juhu beach clean up drive when Shraddha Walkar told another actor that she was pregnant and was forced to have an abortion by her live-in boyfriend Aftab Amin Poonawalla who did not want marriage and a family.

Speaking on phone to this reporter from a village in interior Dhule district in North Western Maharashtra, Madhuri confirmed that she was physically present when Shraddha Walkar told another aspiring actor that she had got pregnant by her live-in boyfriend Aftab Amin Poonawalla and wanted to get married and have the baby.

Madhuri repeated Shraddha’s words to the best of her knowledge and said: “I had got pregnant. I so much so wanted to get married and have the baby. But he (Aftab) was against it. He said if we are married, you will have to follow all our family customs and culture. Our women wear burkhas. You wear pants and skirts. Aftab gave me some tablets and ensured that I aborted the pregnancy. We had a few fights over this. I must have been about 2-3 weeks pregnant or even 4 weeks, I do not know, because I do not know the exact date when I conceived. He googled online and got the names of some pills. He gave me 4 tablets in all over 3-5 days. I did not check what pills they were. There was a lot of bleeding and pain for days,” Madhuri echoed Shraddha’s words saying, this was nearly 1.8 years ago, so I do not remember the exact words, but this is it to the best of my knowledge and memory.

When asked, Madhuri said she did not keep in touch with Shraddha, although she wanted to, as she felt hers was a very complicated case and she (Shraddha) would not listen to her advice or for that matter to anyone else.

“She was an adult. She was educated and had worked in the corporate circle. She had a lot of experience. She was not a kid. She was nearly 7 years older than me. And she was madly in love with Aftab and obsessed with him. She would not leave him and would not listen to her advice or for that matter anyone else. When she left her parents and family for this nutcase, why would she listen to me. When she did not listen to the advice of her other friends, we had known each other only for a day. So I did not keep in touch with her as I felt she was digging her own grave and also walking into it. From our conversation, I understood Aftab was conning and cheating her. This was a case of Love Jihad – the girl was in love and the man was leading her to destruction, pretending to love her. I did not want to get involved in their lafda, so I did not even ask her for her number or attempt to contact her in future,” Madhuri told this reporter from Dhule.
