MUMBAI: A woman who hails from Assam, but is otherwise based in Mumbai, Rayya Labib, who is also an upcoming model and actor and who had interacted with the late Shraddha Walkar – who was murdered by her live-in boyfriend Aaftab Poonawalla, Friday said Shraddha foresaw her murder almost one year ago.

Rayya who was in Assam during the last one month had recently returned to Mumbai and though she had heard about the dastardly incident, was almost cut off from the world in her hometown on the outskirts of a remote town in Assam and could not contact media persons for comment or to share her views and inputs.

According to Rayya, she interacted with Shraddha a few times when she was in Mumbai during January 2021. “Shraddha wanted to get into media and was even keen on doing modelling and Tv serials or web series. She was very keenly interested in the film business and kept requesting me to introduce her to fashion photographers or those who do print and garment shoots,” Rayya said.

Speaking about the terrible murder that shook the nation, Rayya says Shraddha Walkar saw it coming and had an inkling or premonition of the future, that was going to unfold.

According to Rayya who found Shraddha wierd, “She somehow knew or felt she could not avoid it or escape it or run from it. It was as though she was wedded to a certain fate, a sinister end that there was no escape from,” Rayya said.

“It was as though she could see the future, see what was in store for her. She kept saying she would not live long. She kept saying she knew her days were numbered. I thought she was superstitious and was merely rambling away, maybe because she was depressed about something. Little did I know or understand what the future was going to unfold,” Rayya told this reporter.
