VASAI: In the latest update in the Tunisha Sharma suicide case, a local court at Vasai in Palghar of Maharashtra state on Wednesday afternoon sent the accused Sheezan Khan – former boyfriend of the deceased, to additional two-day police custody, after the police insisted on further remand.

The Vasai Court has ordered that the police custody of Sheezan be extended by two more days. He will be in police custody till Friday. A court in Vasai, Maharashtra, sent Sheezan to police custody for four days on Sunday.

Shezaan’s lawyer strongly opposed the further remand, praying for judicial custody or court custody or magistrate’s custody, but the court felt that some more time be given to the police for further investigation.

Sheezan Khan was produced in the Vasai Magistrate’s court at around 3 pm in the afternoon session.  The police stated in court that they need to question Sheezan’s family and need to record their statements. They also said Sheezan was giving contradictory replies and answers to their questions and demanded an extension of police remand.
