Muslim Bollywood actor Rayya Labib supports ban Pathaan film call: Says Khan’s are known for getting ‘free publicity’ from controversies
MUMBAI: A Muslim actor and model from Assam, presently based in Mumbai, Rayya Labib while voicing her opinion on the ongoing controversy around Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan and Deepika Padukone’s ‘saffron’ attire and some scenes and words in the ‘Behsaram‘ song, said it is really behsaram of SRK, Yash Raj Films and director Siddharth Anand for employing such cheap tactics to get free publicity for the film prior to its release.
She fully supported the #BanPathaan movement claiming that they (makers) must delete the objectionable scenes and words and change the color of the outfit worn by Deepika Padukone in the song. Read Here: Who is Rayya Labib?
Rayya Labib who acted in the film Green Terror, directed by Maneesh F Singh and based on the story of Pak-sponsored cross-border terrorism, opined that the Khan’s (indirectly referring to Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan) are known for creating controversies and getting ‘free publicity’ for their films and other projects.
She took to her Twitter account to say:
The Khan’s have a habit & history of creating controversy & getting ‘free publicity’ prior to their film release. #Pathan is indeed defamatory & derogatory. #BesharmRang is really beshram & Khan is really besharam for doing this #banPathaan #BanPathaanMovie #BanPathan

She even said that as a Muslim, she was ashamed of the Khan’s for their cheap publicity stunts to promote their films and fully supports the call for a ban on the film, unless the offending and defamatory items are removed.
I fully support #banPathaan #BanPathan #BanPathaanMovie call by my #Hindu brothers & sisters. As a #Muslim, I am ashamed that such big names like the Khans’ indulge in such cheap stunts to promote their films #ShahRukhKhan #DeepikaPadukone #YashRaj #YRF really ashamed of u guys

For those who came in late, Rayya Labib is also one of the #MeToo victims and has accused another Khan – Sajid Khan of alleged sexual harassment and molestation, in an incident that happened ten years ago.
Although, Rayya said she did not want to link the Sajid Khan incident with the ‘mischief’ by another Khan as they are “two different matters”, she strongly protested against the use of the bhagwa or ‘saffron’ attire and the words Behsaram rang.
On Saturday, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) strongly reacted to Padukone’s ‘saffron’ attire and some scenes in the ‘Behsaram‘ song of the Pathaan movie and demanded that Yash Raj Films and director Siddharth Anand remove the objectionable parts from the film. They also threatened to disrupt the screening of the film and called for a nationwide ban.
“MP Home Minister, BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Thakur strongly objected to Padukone’s costume in a song of ‘Pathaan‘ and demanded that if certain scenes are not “corrected”, the state government will consider a ban on its screening. Thakur also called for a boycott of the SRK-starrer if the offending scenes were not chopped.
Union Minister and BJP MP Giriraj Singh, Saturday dared Pathaan movie actor Shah Rukh Khan to make a film on Islam and the life of Prophet Muhammad.
Speaking on the Pathaan controversy, Singh said if the Bollywood superstar makes a film on Islam and Prophet, he would consider him a secular person.
The controversy is likely to reach the Madhya Pradesh Assembly maybe on Monday or Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a complaint petition was also filed before a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, seeking an FIR against Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone for “hurting religious sentiments” of Hindus.
