Mumbai Porn Racket: Crime Branch May Seek Raj Kundra’s Custody In Fourth FIR
MUMBAI: With the rejection of the anticipatory bail application (ABA) of actor Gehana Vasisth, it is now likely that the Property Cell of the Crime Branch may seek the custody of Raj Kundra and his other colleagues like Umesh Kamat in the fourth FIR registered at the Malwani Police Station and subsequently transferred to the Crime Branch for investigation.
The rejection of bail by the High Court is sort of indication to the police that they are on the right track and emboldens them to crack down further.
The HC also suggested to the police to add sections pertaining to trafficking of women (Section 370 of the IPC), which the police immediately did.
The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected the pre-arrest or anticipatory bail plea filed by actor Gehana Vasisht accused in a case related to pornographic films.
According to the police, Vasisht is accused of allegedly threatening, coercing and luring women with money to act in pornographic films.
Justice SK Shinde refused to grant anticipatory bail to the actor on Tuesday on various grounds.
Vasisht filed the plea last month, apprehending arrest in the case, which was opposed by the police.
She has been booked under Sections 354-C (outraging modesty of woman), 292 and 293 (sale of obscene material) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Sections 66E, 67, 67A (transmission of sexually explicit material) of the Information Technology Act, and provisions of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Meanwhile, model and actress Khushi Sujata Singh, has alleged that even after Raj Kundra’s arrest, several new porn apps including Mango Flix have sprung up in the country.
“In spite of a stringent crackdown by the Mumbai police, wherein the cops arrested 13 persons till date including model and actress Gehana Vasisth and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, the promoters of porn apps are not deterred. They are openly shooting, promoting, publishing and selling porn in the country,” Khushi Sujata Singh said, adding that there are nearly 30 such apps including Mango Flix, X Prime and others.
Sujata-Singh also said that some of those who were arrested in the month of February and subsequently released on bail, have again started shooting and publishing porn, but under different names.
