KOLKATA: In a strategic move that would considerably clip All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Luizinho Faleiro’s wings, the senior politician from Goa, was dropped from the National Executive of the party and stripped off his designation as National Vice President, at the same time was given charge of Goa state.

That means, Faleiro has been sent home and removed from national politics. He has been given charge of Goa state, which is a very small assignment, compared to the fact that he was supposed lead the TMC’s campaign in the North East.

A senior TMC leader said the decision to make Faleiro a Rajya Sabha MP was “wrong” and “taken in undue haste”.

Meanwhile, seeking to explain the party’s decision to drop Rajya Sabha MP Luizinho Faleiro as National Vice President, State TMC President, Kiran Kandolkar said the party has decided to have one-person-one post as the new norm.

“Faleiro is already a Rajya Sabha MP and hence he was dropped from the post of national vice president. The party has not excluded Goa and Goans will also be part of the national executive,” Kandolkar was quoted by The Goan.
