MUMBAI: The alleged Malwani rape victim who filed an FIR against Tv actress Gehana Vasisth alleging gang rape and illegal confinement had earlier tried to blackmail and extort money from other OTT content providers as well.

According to screenshots of WhatsApp messages doing the rounds on social media, OTT content provider and producer Rowa aka Yasmeen Khan and her husband Shaan Banerjee aka Dipankar Khasnawis has also accused the alleged victim complainant of trying to blackmail them.

Rowa alias Yasmeen Khan who had a similar bad experience with the complainant had sent out WhatsApp messages to several producers not to book the victim complainant for their shoots as she is a blackmailer and can go to any extent to extort money from the producers, but Gehana Vasisth refused to pay her the extortion amount and the victim then approached the police.

Two more content providers and one photographer have alleged that the same victim girl had tried to extort money from them in the past on some frivolous grounds. Apparently, the photographer settled the matter with the victim girl by shooting a free portfolio for her.

Tv actress Gehana Vasisth in a written complaint submitted through her lawyers to various police officials in Mumbai including the Mumbai Police Commissioner has alleged that the victim complainant had demanded a sum of Rs 3 lakh from her, which on refusal, she went ahead and filed a complaint of gang rape and illegal confinement.

The Malwani police refused to comment on the case, saying that the matter was under investigation.

The alleged victim was trying to extort a few lakhs from my client. She shot for the video with her complete consent and has even given video bytes and interviews promoting the video she shot. However, after a few days after the shoot on the instigation of some other persons, she began demanding Rs 3 lakh from Gehana Vasisth, her lawyers told IndyaTv.in.

Gehana Vasisth was remanded to judicial custody by the 24th Addl. CMM’s court at Borivali in the case.
