Was Instagram Influencer And Raj Kundra’s HotShots Host Ankita Dave Detained In A Prostitution Racket?
MUMBAI: A popular Instagram influencer and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra’s controversial app HotShots Live host Ankita Dave was allegedly detained by the Mumbai crime branch in a prostitution raid at the Sea Princess hotel in Juhu on Friday.
She was taken to the Mankhurd remand home after being produced in court. The news was tweeted by a well-known journalist and shared on social media by various media outlets and went viral last week.
However, in interviews later on, Ankita Dave denied being detained by the Mumbai cops and also demanded that the police take strict action against those who have spread the news. “I was very much at my home when the incident happened and I was never arrested,” Dave told media persons.
She added that she will sue those who have spread fake news and defamed her.
It is possible that it was a model with a similar name who was part of the racket and the Instagram Influencer was after all not arrested by the police.
Anikta Dave was a popular host and model on the Raj Kundra-owned HotShots app and had hosted several shows online.
According to news reports, the pimp – another model Isha Khan had quoted Rs 4 lakh for Ankita Dave and the other model for two hours.
Two models including one model associated with the controversial HotShots App, were rescued by the Mumbai Crime Branch in a raid at the Sea Princess Hotel at Juhu on Friday and another 32-year-old model and actress Isha Khan arrested for running a high-profile prostitution racket.
On Friday, the Crime Branch busted a high profile prostitution racket at the three-star hotel in Juhu and arrested the 32-year-old model, Isha Khan, for allegedly operating the racket.
During the raid, a TV serial actress and a model were rescued, police said.
Names and photographs of more than 100 models and popular social media influencers were found on Isha Khan’s phone and WhatsApp, a police source told this reporter.
According to the police, the Unit 7 officials received a tip-off that Khan has been running a high profile prostitution racket and claimed to provide actors and models.
A dummy customer then approached Khan, who demanded Rs 4 lakh from him.
According to a Free Press Journal report, after a series of meetings, Khan agreed and asked the dummy customer to meet her at a three star hotel in Juhu on Thursday.
The Crime Branch officials had already laid a trap. As Khan arrived with the two women, they apprehended her.
As reported earlier, one of the women who was part of the racket is a very popular social media personality and has millions of followers on Instagram.
She was also part of the controversial HotShots Live App run by Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra. The second woman who was rescued had also done live shows on various online apps.
Her name has featured in the charge sheet filed against the nine accused who were arrested in February as part of the Mumbai porn racket. She used to perform strip shows for Raj Kundra’s App and earned lakhs.
“We have booked Khan under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and handed her to Santacruz police station for further investigation. The rescued women have been sent to a Mankhurd remand home,” said the police in a statement.
