Failed love affair probable cause of actress Pauline Deepa’s suicide: Police summon Asst director

CHENNAI: A film assistant director was summoned by the city police in connection with the death of an upcoming actress Pauline Deepa in Chennai, a senior official told PTI on Tuesday.

Tamil actor Deepa (29), who had acted in films like ‘Thupparivalan’ and ‘Vaaidha’ was found dead at her rented apartment in Chennai’s Virugambakkam Mallika Avenue on September 18. She had allegedly committed suicide by hanging, he said.

The police recovered a note from her house and are probing all angles, the official said. ”We have summoned an assistant director, who was said to have been close to Pauline Jessica Deepa, in connection with her death,” he added.

Media reports claimed that depression resulting from a failed love affair was the reason for her suicide.

Known as Deepa, Pauline Jessica, had played the lead role in the recently released Tamil movie ‘Vaidha’. Besides, she worked in various Tamil movies and serials.

The Koyambedu Police got information from her neighbours regarding her death. The cops sent the body to Kilpauk Government Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
