Ex-Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco resigns from TMC, confirmation awaited
PANAJI: According to hand-written note doing the rounds on social media, as well as reports by local media outlets and YouTube media channels, former Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has resigned from the Trinamool Congress party.
We are not yet able to confirm or verify this news, and the authenticity of the hand-written resignation note doing the rounds on social media, but it seems Reginald has indeed resigned as there was no activity happening in Curtorim for the last few days.
Messages to the former Goa unit Congress Working President went unanswered.
However a prominent media outlet in Goa also flashed the news, claiming that Reginaldo had resigned and said he was likely to rejoin the Congress.
Sources said Reginald was unhappy with the lackadaisical and susegad attitude of the TMC top brass with regard to the elections in Goa.
The TMC has not yet declared its candidates – given the fact that it entered Goa only four months earlier and some elements like Churchill Alemao seem to be dictating terms to the party, leaving others behind.
The party has failed to appoint or declare its State Committee and State Convenor and except for Churchill and Valankar Alemao, others who joined the party seem to be groping in the dark, due to lack of clarity from the top brass.
We will update this story after confirmation from the former Curtorim MLA.
