Driver was drunk: Cause of death of Telugu actor and YouTuber Dolly D Cruz, aka Gayathri

CHENNAI: According to sources close to the investigation into the accident that led to the death of 26-year-old popular YouTuber and actor Dolly D Cruze, better known as Gayathri, who died in a tragic car accident on Friday, the driver of the vehicle in which she was travelling – her friend Rohit, was either drunk after consuming alcohol or had consumed some other intoxicating substance at the Holi party.

As per reports, she died on the spot in the accident while returning from a Holi party. She was travelling with a friend, who lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a divider in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

Gayathri died on the spot. However, her friend survived after being rushed to a hospital.

Gayathri’s real name is Dolly D Cruze. She was also a popular Youtuber with the channel called Jalsa Rayudu. She had recently worked in the Telugu web series Madam Sir Madam Anthe as well.

The news of Gayathri’s demise was shared by her co-actor Surekha Vani, who played her on-screen mother on the show.

She shared the news on her Instagram page. Expressing shock over Gayathri’s death, she wrote, “How could you leave this mom..! Had really best times together..! Still I can’t believe this..! Can u pleeee Come back soon ra will have a nice party..! Heyy lot to share..! Many more to do together..! Come raa come..! This is not time to go itz too early to leave us..! I dnt wana miss u..! Tcre..! Love u forever..! @dolly_d_cruze.”

Many of her fans and near and dear ones expressed shock and shared condolences on her sudden death.

Her images and reels have gone viral on social media as news of her tragic death spread.

“Rohit and Gayatri were on their way back from a Holi Party on Friday night when the automobile incident happened,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police- Cyberabad Traffic (Gachibowli) P Naveen Kumar.

“The two were driving a Ford Eco-Sport automobile at excessive speeds when they first hit N Maheswari, a gardener who was watering plants outside a hotel. The vehicle then flipped over and smashed on a walkway,” he stated.

Gayatri was a well-known Tollywood junior artiste and YouTuber. Dolly D Cruze is another name for her.

In addition to acting in several short films, she was the lead character in the popular Telugu web series ‘Madam Sir Madam Anthe’.

Maheshwari the gardener, was a native of Lankala village in Narva Mandal of Narayanpet district.
