MUMBAI: In a shocking allegation, actor Rayya Labib today alleged that by calling a press conference (PC), on the same day that a bail application is being filed in the Thane Sessions court, Sheezan Khan’s lawyer is attempting to influence the Waliv police officials, the investigating officer (IO) and the Hon’ble Sessions court as well, by pushing his own narrative or storyline to facilitate and enable his client Sheezan Khan to get bail.

Sheezan’s lawyer should submit his evidence in court, get bail for his client and then take a press conference. If he is so confident, it is a matter of 3-4 more days, he can surely wait till then, Rayya Labib said, adding that this is a blatant attempt to influence the investigation and “threaten” the Waliv police officials.

“He is attempting to silence the police investigation, by using an age-old trick of going to the media and fuelling doubt on the integrity of the police investigation,” she said in a written statement released by her management. She wrote on Twitter:

Rayya took to Twitter and tagging several senior officials and politicians, alleged that attempts are being made to influence the police and the courts as well through the press conference.

“He (Sheezan Khan’s lawyer) is speaking in belligerent tones. He should understand that his client (Sheezan Khan) is an accused in an abetment to suicide case. There is a procedure and protocol to be followed. The investigation is going on. Crucial evidence is yet to be unearthed. By taking a press conference on the same day he is filing a bail application, the learned advocate is apparently attempting to influence the police officials and the Hon. courts. First get bail and then you can take as many press conferences as you want for your own publicity. As you claim you have evidence, show it to the courts, why are you conducting a parallel bail argument before the media,” Rayya asked?
