Bulk drug supplier Edwin Nunes of Curlies will be arrested soon: Hyderabad cops
HYDERABAD: According to sources in the Hyderabad police’s narcotic wing (H-NEW), the narco sleuths have got specific leads and technical evidence of the whereabouts and location of Anjuna club Curlies owner Edwin Nunes who is wanted by them in a drugs case.
“We have got the approximate location and whereabouts of Edwin Nunes. He is moving from place to place and using a SIM card registered in the name of a person from another state. He even keeps changing the SIM card and mobile handset. We have the details and are confident of apprehending him very soon,” a senior police official from the Hyderabad police narcotics wing told this reporter.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Nunes has moved the Supreme Court of India for anticipatory bail, after the Telangana High Court rejected his anticipatory bail application.
Edwin Nunes, is wanted by three enforcement agencies, the Anjuna Police in a NDPS case, the CBI in the Sonali Phogat murder case and by the Hyderabad police in the Pritesh Borkar drugs case. He is absconding and yet to be nabbed, in spite of a massive manhunt launched to track him.
On Friday last week, a disappointed team of the Hyderabad City police went back to its home State, without finding Nunes.
The Hyderabad police have alleged that information about possible raids or even their presence in Goa is leaked to the accused by the Goa cops.
The Goa Police have denied the allegations saying that they provided every assistance possible to their Hyderabad counterparts and Nunes is also wanted by the Anjuna cops in a second FIR against him for faking his Covid-19 test results.
