Actress Poonam Dasgupta conned and duped by Thrillophilia

MUMBAI: Thrillophilia is an online company based out of Bengaluru involved in ticket and hotel bookings, organizing tours, staycations, selling activities and experiences.

Yesteryear popular actress, Poonam Dasgupta went with her husband and son to Manali towards the end of December to usher in the new-year.

Amongst other activities for Navam, her 9 year old son, Poonam booked a helicopter ride through Thrillophilia. This booking was done on 29th October, 2022.

What Poonam did not know at the time of booking was that helicopter rides in Manali were suspended.

Shockingly, Thrillophilia still took Poonam’s booking and the full money for the helicopter activity.

The helicopter ride never took place which Thrillophilia probably knew about all along.

Manoj Thakur, Thrillophilia’s representative in Manali apologized for the helicopter ride being cancelled which was a farce as helicopter rides were discontinued since October 2022 itself and said refund for the ride would be made in 7-8 days.

With no refund being received, e-mails by Poonam’s husband were sent on 6th and 9th January with mere automated responses replied by Thrillophilia.

Poonam’s husband called Thrillophilia on 20th January and spoke to Divya at Thrillophilia who assured refund would be sent in 7-8 days. As no refund was received, Poonam’s husband called again on 30th January and Divya refused to come on the phone.

However Thrillophilia’s person named Deepak informed him that refund would be made by the end of the day. As expected no refund was received and when Poonam’s husband called on 31st January, neither Divya nor Deepak came on the phone but the call was attended by a Floor Manager called Rajendra.

Rajendra said that the refund would come in 7-8 days. This is where Poonam blew a fuse as it was now very clear that Thrillophilia would not give a refund and they were nothing but a scam or con company.

Over the years Poonam has always been known for strongly taking up matters that are unjust and incorrect. From what we reliably understand is that Poonam may rake up this matter on the electronic and print media.

Poonam’s logic is simple: “If Thrillophilia has the audacity to try to con or dupe me, I shudder to think how Thrillophilia must be duping the common man. They have to be exposed.”

When in Manali Poonam’s husband was warned by an activity organizing company in Manali who booked their activities on the ropeway and hot-air balloon that Thrillophilia has a rotten reputation about not making refunds and is a fly-by-night operator.

The fact that Thrillophilia took a booking for an activity which was discontinued clearly establishes ill intent of Thrillophilia and now not giving Poonam the refund proves beyond doubt that Thrillophilia is a notorious company duping travelers by charging them in advance for non-existent services and then not making refunds.

Attempts to contact Thrillophilia were futile as they did not respond our queries and requests for comment. We will update this post as and when they respond to us.
