“Please take me home now, please get me out of here,” Aryan Khan sobs on video call from jail, with SRK and Gauri Khan
MUMBAI: Speaking on a WhatsApp video call with his father SRK and mother Gauri Khan, from the Arthur Road Jail in Central Mumbai, where he is lodged, Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan sobbed and begged his parents to somehow get him out of the place. “Please take me home, please get me out of here now, I can’t stay here anymore,” a sobbing Aryan Khan is supposed to have begged his parents.
Aryan Khan also received a money order for Rs 4,500 – the maximum amount per month, that can be legally sent to an inmate in jail – from his family, which he can use to buy food stuff, fruits, milk, bread, butter and other items like newspapers, stationery, etc., from the canteen at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail.
As per law, Aryan was allowed a 10-minute supervised (in the presence of a jail official) video call with his family; in line with a High Court order that permitted prisoners and undertrials a video call with their families twice a week during the Covid pandemic. All undertrials lodged in jails across Maharashtra are provided one or two video calls to their immediate family as a matter of their human rights. Earlier, before Covid-19, family members could personally meet inmates on seeking an appointment once a week in a special room known as the “Mulakat room.
Aryan, however, only exercised this option once, maybe as he was not aware of the procedure or his family didn’t know how to go about making the request. Read More Here
