MUMBAI: It is now clear that NCB Mumbai chief Sameer Wankhede wanted to immediately raid Shahrukh Khan’s residence at Bandra in suburban Mumbai and had even informed his seniors of the same, but was explicitly denied permission to do so.

This website had reported two weeks earlier that Mumbai Zonal Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Sameer Wankhede main target was Shah Rukh Khan and he tried to raid Shahrukh Khan’s residence Mannat as soon as son Aryan was arrested, but was refused permission by the NCB top brass in Delhi, as substantial evidence was not available to warrant such a raid on a high-profile individual.

In spite of the denial of permission by NCB top brass in Delhi to raid SRK’s home, Wankhede om the next day, tried to get his officers inside Mannat on the pretext of looking for other electronic devices and gadgets used by Aryan Khan, but the local Bandra police refused to accompany the search team, demanding a court warrant to do so. The Mumbai NCB unit was thus forced to merely send a notice to SRK to hand over any other devices used by Aryan Khan to its office, which they did a few days later.

According to The Economic Times, the top brass of the NCB has now distanced itself from Wankhede and wants an impartial enquiry into the matter and the allegations against Wankhede.

The top brass is furious over video footage and images of a now disgraced individual Kiran Gosavi being allowed to restrain and literally drag Aryan Khan to the NCB office. Another video of Gosavi either recording Aryan Khan’s voice or speaking on phone to someone, inside the NCB office has caused a lot of embarrassment to the NCB top brass. Some more images have surfaced, including one of Gosavi standing right behind a sitting Sameer Wankhede, while other NCB officials surround him, apparently in a meeting.

The question being asked in various quarters including the NCB office in Delhi, is how and why a private individual, with a dubious background was given such power, firstly to take custody of a high-risk accused and then to have a free run of the NCB office.

Further, Wankhede has stated that he had never met Gosavi before the raid. In that case, how did Gosavi muster up so much courage to literally run the NCB office on the night of the raid and even instruct NCB officials, who meekly took orders from him? There definitely seems to be more than what meets the eye in this case.
