MUMBAI: Kiran P Gosavi, the Narcotics Control Bureau panch witness (of the selfie fame) in the Aryan Khan drugs case, posed as an NCB official, when he first represented himself to Shahrukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani, officials said.

However when the others including Sam D’Souza, Vijay Pagare and Sunil Patil were brought in the loop, it became clear that Gosavi was not part of the NCB team.

Further when his selfie with Aryan Khan went viral, the NCB issued a public clarification saying he was not part of the NCB team. This blew his false facade, prompting the others to get him to return the money.

Gosavi had made plans to go underground the same night with the Rs 50-lakh amount which he had received, but his cover was blown and all the other four persons involved in the deal – Sam D’Souza, Vijay Pagare, Sunil Patil, Prabhakar Sail and SRK’s manager and others began hounding Gosavi.

Gosavi had switched off his phone for 3 hours and was planning to run away and possibly leave the country, but his luck did not favor him and the others managed to track him down and ask him for the refund. Adding to Gosavi’s woes, the NCB top brass got irritated and angry with the selfie stunt and instructed the Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede to shunt out Gosavi, keeping him at arms length.

Gosavi was trying to negotiate a deal with Wankhede and had initially planned to offer him Rs 5 crore for Aryan Khan’s release, but a rattled Wankhede stopped taking Gosavi’s calls after his bosses in New Delhi told him in no uncertain terms to keep away from Gosavi.

This was the icing on the cake for Gosavi who still tried to hold on to Rs 12 lakh, but was not successful.
