Patna businessman alleges Bigg Boss OTT’s Manisha Rani cheated him of Rs Ten Lakh, approaches cops
MUMBAI: In a new development, a day before the finale of the Bigg Boss OTT, Season 2 reality show, popular contestant Manisha Rani from Bihar has been accused by a Patna-based businessman of allegedly cheating him of Rs Ten lakh, which, according to a written complaint submitted to the Mumbai police was taken as a loan for a business project, which Manisha Rani never repaid and blocked him when he started demanding the money.
We have accessed a copy of the written complaint and the contents of the letter. The well-known Bihari businessman has approached a suburban police station in Mumbai with a written complaint alleging that Manisha Rani allegedly conned him of Rs Ten Lakh, promising to return the principal amount along with a “profit” within 3 months. The money was taken as “investment” in a business project, but neither did the project see the light of day, nor did Manisha Rani return the money, the complainant alleged in his written complaint.
“As soon as she got the money, which was paid in three instalments, she blocked my number and stopped taking my calls,” the businessman has alleged in his complaint, adding that he has all the evidence to prove his case in court.
While we were not able to contact Manisha Rani for her version of the story, as she is ensconced in the Bigg Boss house, the businessman Santosh Gupta who spoke to this reporter, alleged that the Bigg Boss contestant is a professional con-woman who has cheated several people of their hard-earned money, by promising them hefty profits and lucrative returns and disappearing after getting the money. The police are investigating the matter and will summon Manisha Rani after she is out of the Bigg Boss house. We will update this story after speaking to Manisha Rani for her version of the allegations.
A police official who spoke to this reporter said they have received the written complaint, but cannot comment on it as they are yet to investigate the matter. “We have to verify the complaint and the allegations made therein. We cannot comment on this matter right now. Please contact us or our superiors after few days,” the official said.
On the other hand, the aggrieved businessman is hell-bent of recovering his money and has said he will move the appropriate court if the police do not take action. We are trying to contact Manisha Rani’s family to comment on the matter and this post will be accordingly updated when we have more information.
