Bigg Boss 16: Salman Khan’s pay cut due to failure of last year’s Bigg Boss OTT?

According to reports in Mid-day and Times Now, Salman Khan may have been forced to accept a pay cut for Bigg Boss 16.

Last year there were reports that Khan charged Rs 350 crore for hosting 14 weeks of Bigg Boss 15.

It was also said that Salman would get a hefty fee hike for Bigg Boss 16.

However, a recent report in Mid-day, which was repeated by Times Now, suggests that the case may be totally opposite.

According to the Mid-Day report, the producers of the show failed to meet the expected advertising and sponsorship revenue targets from last year’s Bigg Boss OTT which led to reduced numbers of sponsors for the upcoming season.

Not just that, the TRP figures for Bigg Boss 15 were much lower than the earlier seasons.

This has also led to the cancellation of Bigg Boss OTT which was hosted by Karan Johar last year and seems to have also affected the fees of Salman Khan for the coming season of Bigg Boss 16.

Salman is said to have agreed to the pay cut this year for Bigg Boss 16, which means he will be paid less than what he made last year.

Reports of Salman charging Rs 100 crore for Bigg Boss 16 is merely gossip, say industry experts as there is no way the makers could afford to pay this much.
